Autumn means change, for Guide ID as well!

News letter October 2013

Autumn is upon us and lots is changing. At Guide ID we will soon be launching 3 new Podcatchers and a new App. Besides this we have also recently become active in Ireland. You can read about what keeps us busy at Guide ID here in this newsletter.

Museums and heritage sites are currently working on their Autumn exhibitions and budgets for 2014. Therefor we have developed a special offer so that you can test if you visitors experience the Podcatcher as a good extra service, and what they think of your museum. Read more about the offer in the article about the free three month trial.

Furthermore, at the end of September we held a symposium at the Kröller-Müller Museum about audio tours and Apps. The symposium was attended very well and a few of our content partners shared their experience about creating a successful tour. Read more about this in short summary.

During the past few weeks some new projects have started, like Abdij van Park(Leuven), Autoworld (Brussel) and Stockport Air Raid shelters. Besides these projects, many clients have decided to extend there current ending contract. This means that they are satisfied with our services and we take great pride in that.

I hope you enjoy reading the articles below.

Best wishes,

Frits Polman
Managing Director Guide ID Europe.

3 Month free Trial

Give the Podcatcher and App to all your visitors for free.

Are you thinking of offering an audio tour to your visitors. Then why not try it now for free, for three months and evaluate what your visitors think of it. We ofter hear that museums and galleries question the idea of using audio guides. We know from research that visitors really appreciate an audio tour.

Use our trial offer and find out what your visitors want. Offer the Podcatcher and App to visitors for free for three months. During the trial we will do daily research. After 3 months you will have a good insight into what your visitors think, what the most popular objects are and how many visitors enjoyed your tour. Based on this confirmed data you can make a decision whether to keep offering the tour or not.

There is no risk involved for you. If you would like more information, then please contact one of our business managers.

Symposium big succes

Soon also in London, Berlin and Brussel

Friday the 20th of September, last. We organised a symposium in the auditorium of Kröller-Müller Museum. Clients, people of interest, partners and other guests attended. It was a very successful day that we look back on as a positive development. Read more here, in our short summary of the day.

Satisfied customers of which we are proud

Of course we are always happy with new clients, but we are even happier with satisfied current clients. Satisfied customers mean that you are doing well. More than 80% of our clients sign a new contract when it ends, and that makes us proud.

For example the following clients have just resigned long-term; Old Operating Theatre, Castle Cannenburch, Openluchtmuseum Ootmarsum, Plas Mawr, Louwman museum, Slot Loevestein and Museum M.

91% of our visitors answered
Yes to the question "Do you like the tour?"

Royal Dutch Palace

Museum Convention 2013

Cross-Communication and listening.

On Thursday the 3rd and Friday the 4th of October Guide ID attended the museum convention. It was good to see lots of our current clients and hear about what is going on within all the museums and heritage sites.

This years theme, "Cross-Communication", was discussed by different speakers and talked about during workshops. We ourselves are big fans of making connections and communicating long-term, and have made it possible to do so with the Podcatcher platform. Think about the possibility to share content with other heritage sites, for example for traveling exhibitions with audio guides that travel with the exhibtion. We see it happening with multiple clients and try to stimulate it more.

Besides this something else that came up a lot was that we should always be listening to our audience; what does the audience think is important, what do we need to improve. We offer our clients a free standard visitor survey so you can ask your visitors opinion about the museum and the tour, in a quick and easy way. Read more here about visitor research.

The Podcatcher Walk-in's are the perfect opportunity to experience the platform yourself and see what it's like for visitors. The Walk-in's have a very informal setting. The idea is for you and your colleagues to take a tour as if you are a visitor and then to meet with one of our Business Managers for a short chat and a coffee. This will give you the opportunity to receive more specific information and ask questions.
